Importance of the Festival/Event
|
|
Guru Purnima, also known as Vyasa Purnima, is a sacred festival celebrated on the full moon day of Ashadha. It honors spiritual teachers (Gurus) who selflessly share wisdom based on Karma Yoga without monetary greed.
The day marks the birth of Sage Veda Vyasa, the compiler of the Vedas. Devotees use this occasion to express gratitude to their chosen spiritual leaders. |
